are inherently committed to the conservation of the few remaining 'wild' places of the earth, and harbor a focus on harmonizing the integration of the natural landscape within community development.
Dahlquiest-Designed "Legends of the Great Plains" Art Initiative
Where: Pocahontas County, Iowa
Status: In design stages
What do you bring to a rural area that is declining in population and has virtually zero access to ample recreation? A multi-million dollar hub of sustainability designed by renowned public artist David Dahlquist of RDG Design in Des Moines, IA. Dahlquist and his design team of architects presented a conceptual plan of developing the ecological anomaly of Lizard Lake into an integrated pedestrian experience of a "prarie pothole ecosystem" celebrating the heritage of the local area and its inherent connection to agriculture.
This project is of particular importance to me because it is occuring in my home county of Pocahontas, where I have had the chance to attend multiple public forums on the issue and watch it develop from the ground up.

Keep Iowa Beautiful
Storms are nature's reminder of its humble yet merciless dominance of the wild man. It is partially through the change of seasons one is reminded of the cyclical ebb and flow of bounty and barran.
The humble perspective & spiritual energy cast by a remote landscape or approaching storm fuels an insatiable passion which drives my artistic pursuits. It is this hunt for raw connection to nature which allows me to express my photography as a gateway into connecting to and capturing the raw sense of place that individual landscapes convey.
There is nothing like the thunder of a storm to energize a woods walker
